I love the Airbnb I’m staying in except for one thing – no washer/dryer.

It didn’t dawn on me that without them I’d have to scout for laundry services. My host told me about a coin-operated laundromat that was within walking distance.

“Ugh.” I thought about the time it would take to sit in a hot, loud, and uncomfortable place, which may or may not have WIFI. I didn’t realize how nice it is to do laundry at home. I throw a load in, go back to my work, or make dinner, or watch TV. I change the laundry and head to bed or go out for the evening.

I googled laundry delivery services and found www.rinse.com, @rinse.

Their tag line is: Dry cleaning, laundry, and peace of mind delivered to your door.

Answer the following questions.

  • What are your beliefs about time?
  • Do you value your time?
  • Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself?
  • What if you believed you are worthy of spending time and money on yourself? What would you do?

Most people believe that worthiness is something you earn by what you do, how you look, how much money you make, the number on the scale, or the car you drive. The impact of this belief is significant. To prove our worth, we  drive ourselves harder. We neglect our own care by skipping meals, not getting enough sleep, overworking, overcommitting, not taking vacations, or taking vacations and not being present, not celebrating our successes, and trying to show the world we have it all together.

I said, “Hell Yes,” and signed up. I put one pile in a wash and fold bag and another pile in a wash and hang-to-dry bag. The next day I received a text from Rinse: “Your Rinse delivery is scheduled for tonight between 8pm – 10pm. We will send another text at 7pm with your Valet’s estimated time of arrival.”

I spent money on myself….to make time for a life that matters.

What is one way you can value your time today?
