Adventure [ad-ven-cher] (n)

  1. An exciting or very unusual experience
  2. Participation in exciting undertakings or enterprises
  3. A bold, usually risky undertaking with uncertain outcomes

Last week I shared I did not get on a flight to Australia as I am flying on standby (www.mymobileadventure.com). Instead of giving up, I flew to LA to recharge my battery for a week. Today I try again.

Each day I wrote a gratitude list. It is a short set of items for which I am thankful.

It’s especially useful on an as-needed basis. For example, when you worry about what today will bring, accept that things are the way they are, and enjoy the sweet moments – playing with your dog, a conversation with your child or partner, a good night’s sleep.

Instead of wishing your life is different, that other people and circumstances would change so you can be happy, identify three things that make you smile.

When you grow frustrated with your progress toward a goal, look at where you were a year ago. Ask a friend how they’ve noticed that you’ve made positive changes. Sometimes others can see what you cannot.

My daily gratitude lists showed me that The Universe is a friendly place, that I am cared for in every moment, and that I am loved.

Gratitude in the moment gets you out of just surviving another day and gives you the perspective you need to be present and fully alive.
