There’s No Place Like Home.

The 12-hour flight from Auckland touched down in San Francisco at 5:30 am. I had two hours until my next flight for home departed. “I have plenty of time,” I said to myself as I casually walked to customs.
My next flight was overbooked. The holidays, the weather, and the West Coast conspired to jam up the flights.
I slumped into the nearest seat. My head pounded. My body ached from lack of sleep. Airport announcements blared. Thoughts collided except one – I need to get home. To see my sons. To hold my dog. To be on the same time zone as my friends and clients.
I have traveled 55,820 miles on 22 flights.
My deep need to get home kept me focused and in action. I rebooked on another flight. I exhaled as I collapsed into the last seat on My Mobile Adventure.
The plane touched down at 10:35 pm that same day. “Landed,” I texted my son. “On my way to pick you up,” he texted back.
My Mobile Adventure has ended.
My son wrapped his arms around me. My nose reddened and ran as tears flowed. Holding my son filled my heart. I am content, full, home.
I’ve learned so much. I answered my call to this adventure – My Heroine’s Journey. Based on the work by Joseph Campbell, the heroine’s journey is where you go on an adventure, face and overcome obstacles, and return home transformed.
I went into the unknown and experienced unexpected discoveries and received magnificent treasures. Now I get to share them with my community – you!
Everything I teach in my book, Savvy Woman Success in 5 Minutes A Day, Make Time for a Life That Matters, prepared me to say yes to this adventure, to experience endless miracles, to expand my capacity to love, to receive, and to live a rich, delicious life.
