Years ago, my dear friend Tom said to me, “Practice deep relaxing into the free fall.” I didn’t understand what he meant at the time. Now I am experiencing it – my decision to trust the Universe and do what is mine to do.
I packed everything into a carry-on bag and pac-safe bag. My suitcase barely closed. I arrived at my friend’s house and had an hour until my flight departed. “I’m on standby anyways. Relax Moira,” I soothed myself. Elizabeth and I chatted on the way to Dulles Airport.
I’ve answered my call to adventure: I said yes to receiving a gift – a friend pass on an airline that allows me to fly anywhere for this year on standby.
Have you ever thought about going away and not having a routine?
Imagine if you could?
Everything that I have learned and shared in my first book, Savvy Woman in 5 Minutes a Day: Make Time for a Life That Matters, has prepared me to answer my next call…..
My Mobile Life: How to Live, Love, and Parent from the Road.
My mobile adventure is a practical application for HOW to live a life that matters.

I got a seat on the flight, settled in and met my first mobile adventure friend: Subhash – an actor from New York City. He shared his story with me and as he talked, I felt deep contentment. “This is why I am on this adventure – to meet Subhash.” I lost track of time. Nothing else mattered in that moment except listening to him.
“Where are you staying?” he asked. “I don’t know. I haven’t decided yet. Maybe at Venice Beach or West LA. Once I land I’ll get a car and an Airbnb.”
After we exchanged contact information we exited the plane. Reality hit.
“Who does this? Who puts everything into storage, puts their dog in a kennel and travels for six months? How will I make money or be available for my sons if they need me? Where will I live? I’m homeless for goodness sake. What was I thinking?”
Deep relaxing into the free fall.
Going into the unknown is scary. The desire to retreat back to the comfort of the familiar is intense.
“This isn’t going to work. I want to go home,” the little girl inside me cried.
“What home? You gave it up. I told you it was a bad idea,” shouted my inner critic.
When you are doing something new, expect discomfort. Take three deep breaths. Ask for and accept help.
I called my friend Liz. “Help. I need to make decisions on a car and a place to stay. Fear has me by the throat.” Her calm voice soothed my inner critic and inner child. I figured out the solution, booked an Airbnb and rented a car.
This Airbnb was meant for me – it has a LEFT-HANDED desk!
I’ve gone into the unknown to experience unexpected discoveries.
